Survey reveals when women feel least attractive. Useful to marketers?

AdWeek posted results to a survey showing women’s varying levels of self esteem on different days of the week, and hints that the results may have implications for marketers. Some advertisers might use this information to be more sensitive. However, it sounds like the article is suggesting the opportunity to capitalize on female consumers’ insecurities.

What do you think? Is this data okay to exploit, or is a line being crossed?

  1. This is terrible. This is a whole new way of targeting ads, which we could call ‘mood targeting’. I’m sure it would be effective (as long as no one knew you were actually doing this).
